
In a significant step toward enhancing educational access for local youth, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) responded to an invitation from the Municipal Local Government Unit of Itogon to participate in the annual Iyaman 2024 event in Itogon, Benguet, on September 26, 2024. The event served as a platform for CHED-CAR to conduct an orientation on the programs available under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA). This initiative aimed to raise awareness among the local community about the educational opportunities and financial assistance offered through CHED-UniFAST’s programs, ensuring greater access to higher education for Itogon’s youth.

The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), through its UniFAST Unit, hosted the third episode of the SEEDLING Project 2024 Series, focusing on suicide prevention, on September 30, 2024. The webinar, titled ‘Changing the Narrative on Suicide – Start the Conversation,’ was conducted via Zoom and streamed live on Facebook, with 109 participants joining the event.
In observance of Suicide Prevention Month, the event highlighted the importance of mental health and preventing the loss of lives.

The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) held an orientation for the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP-TES) beneficiaries at King’s College of the Philippines (KCP) on September 24, 2024, at Founders Hall, KCP, La Trinidad, Benguet.

The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), in partnership with the Office of Congressman Eric Yap of Benguet’s lone district, successfully oriented 464 new beneficiaries of the Tulong Dunong Program under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP-TES) on September 5, 2024, at the BSU Closed Gymnasium, Benguet State University, La Trinidad, Benguet.

CAREERS, which stands for Cultivating Adaptation, Resilience, and Excellence for Enhanced Readiness and Success, aims to equip graduates as they transition into the professional world.
