In a bid to empower and support deserving students in their pursuit of higher education, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) UniFAST Unit, in cooperation with the Student Scholarships and Grants Unit of Benguet State University (BSU), successfully conducted an orientation for the newly awarded grantees of the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP-TES) on January 27, 2025, at the RSDC Executive Lounge of BSU in La Trinidad, Benguet.

A total of 46 grantees from Kapangan, Benguet, make up this latest batch, with their funding made possible through the initiative of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go. The financial assistance under the program will take effect during the 2nd Semester of Academic Year 2023-2024, providing each grantee with Php 7,500 every regular semester.

Ms. Ana Grace P. Salibad, one of the Regional Coordinators of CHED-CAR for UniFAST, led the orientation and detailed the roles and responsibilities of the grantees. She emphasized the importance of adhering to program requirements and maintaining academic progress to fully benefit from the assistance.

The TDP-TES is a financial aid initiative under Republic Act No. 10931, or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act. This program provides critical financial support to deserving students, enabling them to pursue higher education and achieve their academic goals.

This orientation served as an essential step in preparing the grantees for their journey as grantees of the program.
