The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region through its UniFAST Unit continues its series of learning and development webinars dubbed the SEEDLING Project or Skills Enhancement, Engagement, and Development: A Learning Intervention to Nurture Grantees. On May 26, 2023, the unit conducted the third episode of the series focusing on overcoming public speaking anxiety. The webinar entitled Quest – A Journey Towards Confidence and Eloquence was able to give strategies and tips to PINASkolars on how they can develop the skills and confidence to communicate effectively in academic, professional, and personal settings.
A total of nine (9) episodes were accomplished for this year’s online series of orientation sessions for the Project ACCESS or Acquainting In-Coming College Entrants on Scholarships and Grants-in-aid System. The episodes conducted from May 16 to May 22, 2023, were able to reach a total of 500 participants consisting of graduating Senior High School (SHS) students and Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners from various provinces in the Region. The project was able to upscale its reach by inviting attendees from regions 1, 2, and 3.
Widening the reach of universal access to quality tertiary education, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative through its UniFAST Unit visited Datakan Integrated School in Kapangan, Benguet on May 19, 2023, to orient about the different financial assistance programs offered by CHED and UniFAST.
The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) through its Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs) and UniFAST Units visited Baguio Central University (BCU) for an orientation program on April 28, 2023. The orientation program is part of BCU’s Career Advocacy Fair 2023 for its graduating Senior High School students.
The CHED-CAR UniFAST Unit together with the UniFAST Secretariat Staff completed its round of onsite liquidation checking visits in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Cordillera Administrative Region as it visited Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) today, April 28, 2023. Representatives of ASIST led by their supportive President, Dr. Gregorio Turqueza Jr., met with the staff to present and settle its compliance issues regarding its implementation of the programs under RA 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
