CHED-CAR's Project ACCESS Goes to Benguet National High School

Benguet, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region visited Benguet National High School on April 22, 2024, to conduct Project ACCESS, which stands for Acquainting In-Coming College Entrants on Scholarships and Grants-in-Aid System. The Senior High School students at BeNHS were introduced to various financial assistance programs offered by CHED and UniFAST.

Dr. Ma. Geraldine F. Casipit, Chief Education Program Specialist of CHED-CAR, opened the program. This was followed by Mr. Jay Van P. Basilio, Project Technical Staff of the StuFAPs Unit, who provided an orientation on the CHED Merit-Based Scholarship Program. Dr. Bernadette C. Pal-ec, Education Supervisor II and UniFAST Focal Person, then explained the programs established under RA 10931, also known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.

Following the lectures, an open forum was conducted, facilitated by Regional Coordinator Joefrence S. Yangyang. The program was concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Menzie O. Kuengan, Supervising Education Program Specialist of CHED-CAR.

Project ACCESS serves as CHED-CAR’s official Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign. This initiative, spearheaded by Regional Director Demetrio P. Anduyan Jr., underscores CHED-CAR’s steadfast commitment to providing comprehensive information and guidance to potential college entrants, ensuring they are well-informed about available scholarships and grants-in-aid programs.
