
The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) continued its advocacy for accessible higher education by participating in the Career Orientation Program of Tuba Central National High School on February 26, 2026. With the theme “Navigating Your Future: Discovering Career Pathways,” the event engaged 161 learners from Grades 10 and 11, along with faculty and staff, in discussions on academic pathways, scholarship opportunities, and career planning.

In line with its commitment to expanding access to quality education, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), led by OIC Regional Director Serafin L. Ngohayon, convened a coordination meeting on February 25, 2026, at the CHED-CAR CARASUC Hall in preparation for the implementation of Project PEPA (Patuloy na Edukasyon, Patuloy na Pag-Ahon) in the region.

The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), through its UniFAST Unit, participated in the Career Guidance and Counseling Program of Binga National High School in Itogon, Benguet, entitled “G.A.B.A.Y.” (Guidance and Advocacy for Building Aspirations of Youth) on February 20, 2026. A total of 140 learners from Grades 10 to 12 joined the program, which aimed to prepare students for their transition to higher education and future career paths.

As part of its efforts to guide students in making informed educational and career choices, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) participated in the Career Guidance and Orientation Program of Datakan Integrated School in Kapangan, Benguet, on February 13, 2026. The program, themed “Connecting Talent with Opportunity,” aimed to help learners make informed and responsible decisions about their future career paths, particularly in selecting the Senior High School track and planning for their post-graduation options, whether in higher education, entrepreneurship, or employment.

The Commission on Audit (COA) held an exit conference at CHED-CAR, La Trinidad, Benguet, on February 11, 2026, to present the initial findings of its performance audit of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE) programs. The event convened representatives from CHED-CAR, Benguet State University (BSU), University of Baguio (UB), and University of the Cordilleras (UC) to review the results and discuss strategies to further strengthen the implementation and impact of UAQTE programs in the region.
