
With the aim of bringing essential government services closer to remote communities, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) heeded the invitation and actively participated in the Serbisyo Caravan organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) at Barangay Bol-lilising, Villaviciosa, Abra, on April 21, 2026. The activity, in cooperation with the Municipal Government of Villaviciosa, led by its Mayor Hon. Marjorie L. Lagen, forms part of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) of DILG, which seeks to deliver responsive development initiatives to priority barangays. A total of 200 residents availed themselves of the services offered during the caravan.

In a continuing effort to strengthen student support services, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), through its UniFAST Unit, successfully conducted an orientation for the new Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and TDP-TES beneficiaries of Data Center College of the Philippines (DCCP) – Bangued on April 20, 2026.

In line with its continuing efforts to strengthen student support programs, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), through its UniFAST Unit, successfully conducted an orientation session for the new Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Tulong Dunong Program (TDP-TES) beneficiaries of the Divine Word College of Bangued (DWCB) – Abra on April 20, 2026.

Featured during the first 2026 episode of UAQTEA Time on KSU Online Radio, Jenny Claire Fontanilla, a Tertiary Education Subsidy beneficiary of Kalinga State University, shared her inspiring journey as a working student who turned challenges into opportunities. Coming from a farming family in Tabuk City, Kalinga, Jenny Claire supported herself through a small food business while pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Public Administration. With the help of TES and entrepreneurial training under Project MARITES, she overcame financial barriers, strengthened her leadership skills, and is now on her way to graduation—proof of how accessible, quality education can transform lives.

As part of its continuing information and advocacy efforts, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED‑CAR), through its UniFAST Unit, successfully conducted the first session of UAQTEA Time for the 2026 series on April 17, 2026, in partnership with Kalinga State University (KSU). The program was aired via KSU Online Radio, continuing the initiative’s commitment to strengthening public awareness of government higher education assistance programs.
