As part of its continuing commitment to making higher education more accessible to disadvantaged and marginalized sectors, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) was featured as a resource agency during the 4Ps Hour segment of the Department of Social Welfare and Development – Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD-CAR), aired on DZWT 540 AM – Radyo Totoo on July 23, 2026. The program was hosted by Aling Rosa and co-hosted by Christian Robert M. Sandoval, Information Officer II of DSWD-CAR.

Representing CHED-CAR was Dr. Serafin L. Ngohayon, Officer-in-Charge Regional Director, who provided updates on the agency’s programs and discussed scholarship and financial assistance opportunities available to students, particularly beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). He emphasized the importance of accessible higher education and highlighted the various support mechanisms available to help deserving students pursue their academic aspirations. Among the programs presented were the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), Tulong Dunong Program (TDP), CHED Merit Scholarship Program (CMSP), and the Expanding Access to Scholarships for Special Equity Groups (EASE) Program, all of which aim to support students in overcoming financial barriers to higher education.

Joining the discussion were Ms. Delaila Irma Calindas, Regional Coordinator under the UniFAST Unit, and Ms. Fe Biba, Project Development Officer II of DSWD-CAR. The segment served as a platform to raise awareness of government tertiary education assistance programs and encourage qualified 4Ps beneficiaries to take advantage of opportunities that can support their educational and career goals.

Through its participation in the radio program, CHED-CAR reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to quality higher education and ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder deserving students from attaining their educational aspirations and building a brighter future.
