Bringing vital education updates straight to the airwaves, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), through its UniFAST Unit, aired UAQTEA Time in Ifugao via Radyo Kiphodan and Lamut FM on June 2 and 3, 2026, reaching communities with timely information and inspiring success stories.

Regional Coordinators Delaila Irma Calindas and Jurcell Dilla served as resource persons, providing updates on the implementation of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA) across the region.

During the Radyo Kiphodan segment, former Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grantee Mr. Orlando Mammay Kiwaon, a resident of Cawayan, Asipulo, Ifugao, shared his inspiring journey. Now a Teacher II at Natkak National High School, Kiwaon credited the TDP for helping him complete his education and achieve professional success.

Meanwhile, the Lamut FM episode featured Mr. Alvin Paolo Tomas, Scholarship Coordinator of Ifugao State University (IFSU), who joined the discussion to provide updates on UAQTEA implementation at the university. He also encouraged incoming students to consider enrolling at IFSU and take advantage of available government education support programs.

Radyo Kiphodan is operated by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lagawe, while DWPH 105.1 Lamut FM is managed by the LGU of Lamut. In 2025, the CHED-CAR UniFAST Unit formalized its partnership with these stations through a Memorandum of Agreement, in collaboration with Ifugao State University, to air UAQTEA Time twice annually.

UAQTEA Time is a regional initiative of CHED-UniFAST CAR that partners with local radio stations to promote awareness of UAQTEA programs and other higher education support services. The program also highlights inspiring success stories of student-grantees whose lives have been transformed through accessible and quality education.
