The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED‑CAR), through its UniFAST Unit, in cooperation with the Congressional District of Kalinga Province, successfully conducted an orientation for the new batch of Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grantees of Kalinga Province on April 17, 2026, at Saint Tonis College.

The activity aimed to familiarize the new grantees with the program guidelines, benefits, and responsibilities, as well as to encourage them to maximize the assistance provided under the Tulong Dunong Program in pursuit of their academic goals.

The program formally opened with welcome remarks delivered by Saint Tonis College Vice President for Academic Affairs, Ms. Rosibille C. Galban. In her message, she encouraged the grantees to use the grant as their inspiration to study harder, aim higher, and serve with purpose. She emphasized that the financial assistance should not only support their education but also inspire them to help uplift others and contribute to building a better tomorrow, while prioritizing their studies.

Representative Hon. Carolyn Agyao of the Lone District of Kalinga graced the event and shared an inspirational message to the grantees. She reminded the grantees to show gratitude to their parents and families and to use the grant wisely as a means to support their education and help ease their families’ financial burden.

The orientation proper was led by Dr. Bernadette C. Pal‑ec, Education Supervisor II and UniFAST Unit Head, who discussed the program’s objectives, eligibility requirements, grant conditions, and the compliance responsibilities of the beneficiaries. She also emphasized the importance of adhering to all program requirements to ensure the continuous receipt of the grant. After the orientation, grantees received and accomplished their Notices of Award.

Through this initiative, CHED‑CAR and its partner institutions continue to uphold their commitment to accessible and inclusive higher education, staying true to the vision of “Kalidad na Edukasyon, Abot Na.”
