Continuing its commitment to supporting for student-grantees, the CHED-UniFAST CAR conducted an orientation on May 21, 2025, for the latest batch of beneficiaries under the Tulong Dunong Program–Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP-TES) enrolled in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Baguio City.
A total of 1,092 students comprise the new batch of grantees who are set to begin their journey in the First Semester of Academic Year 2024–2025. Each qualified grantee will receive Php 7,500 per regular semester to assist with their educational expenses.
The orientation was led by Ms. Ana Grace P. Salibad, Regional Coordinator of CHED-UniFAST CAR. She briefed the students on their roles and responsibilities as grantees and emphasized the importance of compliance to ensure continued receipt of the subsidy. Ms. Salibad also presented the regional office’s key initiatives such as Project SAGIP and Project SEEDLING, which aim to enhance student support services in the region.
The event was further enriched by the presence of Hon. Mark Go, Representative of the Lone District of Baguio, who delivered a compelling message to the student-grantees. He urged the students to stay committed to their studies and maximize the educational opportunities made possible through government support.
To conclude the session, regional coordinators distributed Notices of Award to the grantees, officially marking the beginning of their participation in the TDP-TES program—a significant milestone in their pursuit of higher education.
Also present during the session were Focal Persons from the University of the Cordilleras and Easter College, Inc., who helped in the facilitation of the session.
The TDP-TES is a government-funded financial assistance program designed to alleviate the financial burdens faced by underprivileged students. By covering essential academic needs such as books, supplies, and other school-related expenses, the program supports students in their quest for academic success and a better future.
