Continuing its series of orientation sessions, CHED-UniFAST CAR conducted an orientation for the new Tulong Dunong Program under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP-TES) grantees from the Province of Benguet on March 13, 2025, at the UB Gymnasium, University of Baguio, Baguio City.
A total of 165 student-grantees, from Batches 9.1 and 20.1, attended the session. Endorsed by the Provincial Government of Benguet, these grantees are Benguet residents currently enrolled in Higher Education Institutions in Baguio City.
The event commenced with Ms. Rowena P. Sungduan, UniFAST Focal Person of UB, who delivered the opening remarks on behalf of UB President Javier Herminio D. Bautista.
Leading the orientation was Ms. Ana Grace P. Salibad, Regional Coordinator of CHED-UniFAST CAR, who provided a comprehensive overview of the roles and responsibilities of the new grantees. She emphasized that the Tulong Dunong Program is a vital component of the Tertiary Education Subsidy initiative, established under Republic Act No. 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA). This program aims to provide financial assistance to academically deserving students, enabling them to pursue higher education without financial burden.
Joining the session were Regional Coordinators Mr. Lemuel V. Refuerzo and Ms. Precious Jane Amiten, who facilitated the distribution of Notices of Award to the new grantees. Through these orientation sessions, CHED-UniFAST CAR remains steadfast in its mission to inform and empower students with opportunities for financial assistance, ensuring that they are well-equipped to achieve their educational goals.
