The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), through its UniFAST Unit, partnered with the Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) to conduct a successful TES Orientation and Payout on December 27, 2024. The event marked the inclusion of 250 new beneficiaries under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) for the 1st Semester of Academic Year 2023-2024.
Ms. Jezeny O. Laoyan, Lead Regional Coordinator of CHED-CAR, took the opportunity to emphasize the roles and responsibilities of the new TES beneficiaries, ensuring that they fully understood the program’s guidelines and expectations. She was joined by Regional Coordinators Ms. Delaila Irma T. Calindas and Ms. Marife B. Calimodag.
During the activity, beneficiaries, accompanied by their parents or guardians, completed the TES Sharing Agreement. They also received their stipends for the semester, signifying the start of their journey under the government’s financial assistance program.
The event highlighted the collaborative efforts of CHED-CAR and CCDC in supporting access to quality education and ensuring that financial aid reaches deserving students across the region.
TES is one of the major programs of the Republic Act No. 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, which provides financial assistance to qualified students enrolled in CHED-recognized public and private higher education institutions. This program helps cover the partial cost of tertiary education, including education-related expenses. To know more, visit www.unifast.chedcar.com.
