CHED-CAR and CCDC Host 2024 TES Congress: Empowering Future Leaders through Innovation and Technology

The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), through its Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) Unit, in partnership with Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC), successfully held the 2024 TES Congress on December 6, 2024, at CCDC in La Trinidad, Benguet.
With the theme “Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders: Empowering TES Beneficiaries through Innovation and Technology,” the event brought together 250 participants, including Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) beneficiaries, their respective Focal Persons from various higher education institutions in the region, and 12 partner agencies showcasing services for the youth.
Dr. Sherry Junette Malaya-Tagle, President of CCDC, warmly welcomed the participants, setting a positive tone for the day. Dr. Demetrio P. Anduyan Jr., Director IV of CHED-CAR, delivered an inspirational message, highlighting the importance of education and innovation in shaping the next generation of leaders.
The congress featured two thought-provoking sessions led by esteemed speakers. In the morning, Dr. Christian Pascual, Director of the Institute for Innovative Learning and International Cooperation at the University of the Cordilleras, discussed “Technological Innovation in Education: Reimagining Learning in the 21st Century.” His session emphasized how emerging technologies are transforming the educational landscape.
The afternoon session focused on “Sustainable Leadership: Driving Change for a Better Future.” Engr. Glenn N. Murphy, Assistant Regional Director of TESDA-CAR, shared insights on fostering leadership qualities that promote sustainable and meaningful change in communities.
The 2024 TES Congress exemplifies CHED-CAR’s commitment to empowering students through education, innovation, and collaboration, further solidifying its role in nurturing future leaders equipped to face the challenges of tomorrow.
