CHED-CAR Successfully Conducts Project ACCESS 2024 Online Session

The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) successfully conducted the 2024 online session of Project ACCESS (Acquainting In-Coming College Entrants on Scholarships and Grants-in-Aid System) on June 27, 2024, to provide valuable information and guidance to incoming college students about various scholarship opportunities and grants.

The session featured several key presentations on the different financial assistance programs offered by CHED and UniFAST. 

Ms. Christine M. Soriano, Education Supervisor II and the Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs) Focal Person, provided a comprehensive overview of the financial assistance programs offered by CHED like the CHED Merit Scholarship Program and Agricultural Competitiveness Grant-in-Aid Program. Her presentation highlighted the eligibility criteria, application process, and benefits of the scholarship, ensuring that students are well-informed about this opportunity.

Afterwhich, Dr. Bernadette C. Pal-ec, Education Supervisor II and the UniFAST Focal Person, introduced participants to the various programs offered by the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST). Dr. Pal-ec detailed the different financial aid options available to students, emphasizing the importance of these programs in supporting students’ educational pursuits.

An expert talk on Maximizing Scholarship Opportunities and Preparing for College Success was also incorporated in the program. Mr. Eldon Harris Soriano, Guidance Counselor III at Pines City National High School, delivered an insightful talk on how to maximize scholarship opportunities and prepare for a successful college experience. His expert advice covered strategies for identifying and applying for scholarships, as well as tips for academic and personal success in college.

Project ACCESS 2024’s online session was a resounding success, providing crucial information and support to incoming college students. The event underscored CHED-CAR’s commitment to ensuring that students in the Cordillera region are equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to pursue higher education opportunities.
