CHED-UniFAST Awards Eligibility to Star Colleges to Implement UAQTEA Programs

Underscoring its commitment to promoting education inclusivity and excellence, the Commission on Higher Education—Cordillera Administrative Region, through its UniFAST Unit, awarded to Star Colleges its eligibility to implement programs under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (RA 10931) on June 4, 2024. The eligibility, with the approval of UniFAST Board Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III and UniFAST OIC – Executive Director Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, allows the possibility to cater to potential beneficiaries enrolled at Star Colleges. Ms. Menzie O. Kuengan, the Supervising Education Program Specialist, led the CHED-CAR team and relayed her felicitation to the institution. Atty. Kara Russanne D. Alawas, President of Star Colleges, received the duly signed Memorandum of Agreement, symbolizing a new chapter of growth and development for the college and its future students. Following the awarding, representatives of Star Colleges were oriented on the different UAQTEA programs and their role in implementing them. As the Cordillera Administrative Region continues to stride forward in its educational initiatives, the eligibility granted to Star Colleges marks a significant achievement in the collective aim to provide quality, accessible, and relevant higher education opportunities to every Filipino youth.
