With the objective to ensure the smooth implementation of the programs under UniFAST, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region UniFAST Unit completed visiting higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Abra Province on March 1-2, 2023. Among the schools visited were Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST), Abra Valley Colleges (AVC), Data Center College of the Philippines – Bangued (DCCP-Bangued), and Divine Word College of Bangued (DWCB).

The team led by Dr. Bernadette C. Pal-ec, Education Supervisor II and UniFAST Focal Person, met with the UniFAST team of the said HEIs composed of their Focal Persons, Accountants, Registrars, and Guidance Counselors to discuss matters regarding the liquidation and billing process, disbursement of allowance, and adherence to the projects initiated by the Regional Office.

Also present during the monitoring visit were Rev. Fr. Gil T. Manalo, SVD, President of DWCB, and President Herminia G. Sicco of DCCP-Bangued.

The Province of Abra was the fourth province visited during this year’s program monitoring. The monitoring activity is an annual undertaking of the Unit to ensure the smooth delivery of programs under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act.
