
Underscoring its commitment to promoting education inclusivity and excellence, the Commission on Higher Education—Cordillera Administrative Region, through its UniFAST Unit, awarded to Star Colleges its eligibility to implement programs under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (RA 10931) on June 4, 2024. The eligibility, with the approval of UniFAST Board Chairperson Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III and UniFAST OIC – Executive Director Atty. Ryan L. Estevez, allows the possibility to cater to potential beneficiaries enrolled at Star Colleges.

On May 21, 2024, the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), through its UniFAST Unit, held a meeting with the Focal Person for the Baguio College Education Financial Assistance Grant (BCEFAG) from the City Government of Baguio. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss mapping student financial assistance programs.

The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region, through its UniFAST Unit, led the coordination meetings with the Provincial Government of Benguet (Benguet PLGU) and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples – Cordillera Administrative Region (NCIP-CAR) on May 2 and May 13, 2024, respectively, for the student financial assistance program mapping. Discussions include matters related to providing financial assistance programs under their respective offices.

The UniFAST Secretariat led an orientation on the latest guidelines and processes of the programs under the Republic Act No. 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA) to the UniFAST Regional Coordinators of the Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) on May 9, 2024, at CHED-CAR Regional Office in La Trinidad, Benguet.

The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) convened with the Department of Trade and Industry – Cordillera Administrative Region (DTI-CAR) on May 10, 2024, for the third year of implementation of the Project MARITES (Mobilizing Available Resources through Inclusive Training on Entrepreneurship of Student-Grantees) fused with the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP).
