CHED-CAR UniFAST Unit Orients Temporary UniFAST Focal Person of Saint Louis College of Bulanao

The Commission on Higher Education – Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR) UniFAST Unit met with representatives of Saint Louis College of Bulanao in Tabuk City, Kalinga Province on March 6, 2026, to orient the institution’s temporary UniFAST Focal Person, Ms. Lyca Comdang, who currently serves as SLCB’s Scholarship Coordinator.
Ms. Comdang will temporarily assume the role from April to June 2026, during the mandatory vacation leave of the current TES Focal Person, Sr. Anthony Bala, who will be returning to India for two months.
Alongside her, Ms. Novie Ann Codiam, the institution’s new Financial Officer, was also oriented on the provision of grants under the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTEA) Act.
The CHED-CAR delegation was led by Dr. Bernadette C. Pal-ec, Education Supervisor II and UniFAST Unit Head, together with Regional Coordinators Ms. Marife B. Calimodag and Ms. Danielle G. Galong. During the meeting, the team discussed the roles and responsibilities of a UniFAST Focal Person and key personnel of a partner Higher Education Institution (HEI), and outlined the reports and compliance requirements expected from the position.
The meeting was also attended by representatives from Saint Louis College of Bulanao: Fr. Brigido Dubao, Executive Officer; Ms. Alixie Kerr Mendoza, Bookkeeper; and Ms. Zyra Mae Bawalan, Cashier.
With this meeting, the UniFAST Unit ensures that the incoming TES Focal Person is well-oriented on her roles and responsibilities, supporting the continued efficient implementation of the UAQTEA programs.
