CHED-UniFAST CAR Brings Project ACCESS to Sinacbat National High School

No school is too far for Project ACCESS, as the Commission on Higher Education – Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (CHED-UniFAST) CAR visited Sinacbat National High School in Bakun, Benguet, on March 31, 2025, during its Women’s Month Celebration and Career Guidance Program with the theme: “Empower, Protect, and Guide: A Unified Scouting Journey for Career, Women, and Safety.

Leading the team was Ms. Jezeny O. Laoyan, Lead Regional Coordinator of CHED-UniFAST CAR, who presented the various programs offered under Republic Act No. 10931, or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA). The session, attended by grades 7 to 12 learners, parents, and barangay officials, provided valuable insights into financial aid opportunities that make higher education more accessible.

Joining her were Regional Coordinators Mr. Lemuel Refuerzo and Ms. Danielle Galong, who further engaged with participants and shared key information on scholarship and financial assistance programs.

Adding excitement to the event, the CHED-UniFAST CAR team also served as judges for the Search for Mr. and Ms. Career Advocates 2025, highlighting student leadership and advocacy in career development.

The program concluded with Ms. Alejandrina M. Malamute, Head Teacher I, delivering the closing remarks, expressing gratitude for the initiative that empowered students with knowledge about their future educational opportunities.

Project ACCESS, the official Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) program of the Regional Office, continues to bridge the gap between students and financial aid resources, ensuring that higher education remains within reach for aspiring learners across the region.
